Interest in superhero movies has dropped significantly. The recently released Marvel and DC movies have been a huge disappointment, especially since they crashed at the box office. Madame Web, which was released last week, is one of these movies. Madame Web received such poor reviews that many viewers heralded it as the worst superhero movie in history.
Madame Web broke a record on the contrary – It crashed at the box office
Sony’s new Marvel adaptation of Madame Web, which includes actors such as Sydney Sweeney, Dakota Johnson and Emma Roberts, was released in the USA on February 14. The production, which somehow became the focus of criticism before it hit the big screen, was able to gross approximately 26 million dollars in its first 6 days.
Considering that the budget of the film is 80 million dollars, this start is not a situation that will be welcomed by Sony and Marvel. However, the film’s critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is 13 per cent, and the audience score is 55 per cent.
It’s not limited to just these. In addition to its low box office and poor Rotten Tomatoes scores, the film’s Metascore score is 27 out of 100. So, taking all this data into consideration, we can say that this is one of the worst comic book adaptations in history.
Of course, the reason behind the low box office of the recently released superhero movies can be interpreted as the weakening of the stories and heroes. For example, We no longer have Iron Man with Tony Stark or Captain America with Steve Grant Rogers. We hope things will change with Deadpool 3, which will be released this year.
